First Name Fix app for iPhone and iPad

If you are using Gmail sync on your iPhone you may have noticed Contacts entered into Gmail with a first name only are not handled correctly when they are pushed to your iPhone; the first name ends up in the last name field and the actual first name field is empty.

In the event you are switching on Gmail sync for the first time or you have entered a large number of new contacts into Gmail with a first name only it would be time consuming to have to then correct the names in the iPhone address book.

The First Name Fix app relieves you of this burden as it examines your iPhone address book for entries with only a last name specified and allows you perform an operation to correct them all at once.

Simply run the app, uncheck any names you want to exclude from the fix (entries that legitimately have only a last name for instance) and tap the Fix button.
